Uranus

Uranus is the seventh planet in the Solar System and third of the gas giants. It is the third largest planet by diameter, and fourth most massive.

Some Amazing  facts about Uranus:

1. Year
Uranus takes 84 Earth years to orbit the Sun.The summer in Uranus is 42 years long.

2.Axial Tilt
Uranus is tipped over on its side with an axial tilt of 98 degrees,so its north and south poles lie where most other planets have their equators.

3.Temperature
Uranus has the coldest planetary atmosphere in the Solar System, with a minimum temperature of -371.56 °F (−224 °C).

4.Size
Uranus has Equatorial Diameter (51,118 km) and Polar Diameter (49,946 km). It means 63 Earths can fit inside Uranus.

5. Spacecraft Mission
Our exploration of Uranus has been entirely through the Voyager 2 spacecraft in 1985 and 86. It returned the first close-up images of the planet, its moons, and rings.

6.Element Uranium
The chemical element Uranium, discovered in 1789, was named after the newly discovered planet Uranus.

7. Who Discovered Uranus?
William Herschel discovered Uranus in 1781. The planet is too dim to have been seen by ancient civilizations. Herschel himself believed that Uranus was a comet at first, but several years later it was confirmed as a planet – making Uranus the first planet discovered in modern history.

8.Rings
There are 13 known rings of Uranus, all very faint. They are very dark but like Saturn's they are composed of fairly large particles ranging up to 10 meters in diameter in addition to fine dust. The brightest is known as the Epsilon ring.
