Mercury    Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun.Mercury is one of four terrestrial planets in the Solar System, and is a rocky body like Earth. It is the smallest planet in the Solar System 1. Size    It has the diameter of 4,879 km which make it "smallest" planet of solar system. 2. Mass    It has mass of   3.30 x 10^23 kg (5.5% of Earth). Therefore, it has only 38% of gravity as compared to earth.                      3. Second Hottest Planet    Instead of closest planet to sun, it is not the hottest planet, because it has no atmosphere(because of weak gravity) to regulate the temperature, therefore it has large variation in temperature during night(-170 degree Celsius) and day(430 degree Celsius). 4. Day and Year    A year in Mercury is 88 days, yet a Mercury day is 176 Earth days. 5.Second Densest Planet     After the Earth, Mercury...

OUR SUN The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System.  Its diameter is about 109 times that of Earth, and its mass is about 330,000 times that of Earth, accounting for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System. 1.Age    The Sun is 4.6 billion years old.Now it has crossed it's middle-aged.  The Sun has already burned off about half of its store of Hydrogen. It has enough left to continue to burn Hydrogen for approximately another 5 billion years. 2.Size    The diameter of Our sun is approximately 1,392,684 km.Around one million Earths could fit inside the Sun. 3.Mass    The Sun contains 99.86% of the mass in the Solar System. The mass of the Sun is approximately 330,000 times greater than that of Earth. 4.Temperature     The temperature on the surface of the Sun is closer to 5,600 degrees Celsius. The temperature inside the Sun can reach 15 million degrees Celsius. 5.Shape    The Sun i...

Our Solar System Our Solar system of one star and eight planets was born about 4.6 billion years ago. All of the pieces were created at the same time.  It took billions of years for the entire system to develop. All of the gases, dust, and pieces of the system were around at the start. Eventually a star, eight planets, some smaller dwarf planets (like Pluto), and an asteroid belt developed. There wasn't even a star when the Solar System started out.  1. Age      The Solar System was formed approximately 4.6 billion years ago, it is derived from the study of meteorites. 2. Father of Solar System     99.86% of the system’s mass is found in the Sun and the majority of the remaining 0.14% is contained within the solar system’s eight planets.                              Sun is the head of our solar system 3. Size   The diameter of solar system is...

Let's start with Universe The Universe is all of space and time (space time) and its contents, which includes planets, moons, minor planets, stars, galaxies, the contents of intergalactic space and all matter and energy. 1. LIGHT YEAR       Our Universe is so vast. Therefore, there is a unit to measure the distance between galaxies, stars,  that is LIGHT YEAR(   distance equivalent to the distance that light travels in one year   distance equivalent to the distance that light travels in one year ).                                                     1 light year=9460700000000  km 2. Everything Is Moving      Our Milky Way Galaxy is rotating at 225 kilometers per second,t he earth is moving with speed of 390 kilometers per second.                 ...
