1. Bamboo Survived Hiroshima

     Bamboo was the only plant to survive the radiation of the atomic bombings in Hiroshima, Japan in 1945. The heat and energy of bombs destroyed all trees and other plant life, except for one bamboo grove. The grove has since been removed, but culms from the grove are preserved in a museum in Hiroshima.

2.Giraffes can clean their ears with their tongue.

   A giraffe’s tongue can be as long as 20 inches (50.8 cm). They use their long tongue to
eat food from taller trees…but, they also use it to clean their noses and their ears.

3.Largest Diamond

The largest diamond ever discovered was called the Cullinan diamond, and weighed in at an amazing 3106 carats, or 1.33 pounds. Discovered in 1905 in South Africa, the mine’s owner and the South African leaders gave the diamond to King Edward. The Cullinan was eventually cut into nine large diamonds and 100 smaller ones, and the three largest of these are on display in the Tower of London as part of the crown jewels.

4.Elephant Brain

They have the largest brain of any land mammal The elephant’s IQ is nearly as high as a chimpanzee’s. They have an understanding of basic arithmetic and can even keep track of relative quantities.They can recognize 12 distinct tones of music and recreate melodies.

5.Unborn Baby can hear sound

Baby ears are fully formed halfway through pregnancy and baby’s sense of hearing is quite good, despite being muffled by amniotic fluid.
