1. Bamboo Survived Hiroshima
Bamboo was the only plant to survive the radiation of the atomic bombings in Hiroshima, Japan in 1945. The heat and energy of bombs destroyed all trees and other plant life, except for one bamboo grove. The grove has since been removed, but culms from the grove are preserved in a museum in Hiroshima.2.Giraffes can clean their ears with their tongue.
A giraffe’s tongue can be as long as 20 inches (50.8 cm). They use their long tongue toeat food from taller trees…but, they also use it to clean their noses and their ears.
